The tree of life has been used in biology, religion, philosophy, and mythology. It alludes to the interconnection of all life on our planet [Wikipedia].
The workshop, where several volunteers participated, consisted beside the mosaic construction also with exercises for the focus and concentration (i.e. mindfulness). This is very important for embracing different points of view, different perspectives, which are crucial in different project activities. This workshop was an example, how the project idea can diverge substantially from the ongoing process. But thank God, the Tree of Life is able to embrace (almost) everything.
The workshop took place on 24th June 2014 in Darwin centre, Bordeaux. Participants from different countries designed and constructed the mosaic (guided by Boštjan Žvanut) after a mindfulness preparation workshop (guided by Maja Frencl).
