Towers

Optical illusion of depth...

Optical illusion (also called a visual illusion) is characterized by visually perceived images that differ from objective reality [Wikipedia].

In 2005 I started to work in a classroom without windows, except those installed on the computers. Hence I decided to construct a mosaic that gives the optical illusion of depth. Yellow was the right colour, combined with white, red and grey in order to makee this class more vivid.

Interestingly, in the same period I also painted my kitchen yellow. Who knows why? Probably because of the sun in Siena, Tuscani, which I visited in that period. What about towers? San Gimigniano, which lies near Siena is an obvious answer to this question.
